Dominion
July 17, 1996
she'd met one, she said
an eater of souls
back in Hokaido
one of what she'd claimed
smaller cities in Japan
old man in a noodle bar
seventy years drawn in a close knit family
one day showed wan face and let on
how all his own were gone - moved on
not in death, but it self's own form
hers was discipline
mind to bone like rock and water
joined - and one - in tomes
she stood
seventeen and stone made
like another warrior of age gone
back at the old one's home
to face down the disease that came
flowing round - poking in her
but when it turned and tried to swallow her
her past ones came - like willow
like sword
and when it tried to swallow her
she called upon her own
and swallowed it
fear not - she said
the enemies - because they are not you
nor your past - you can eat them all
but ware -
they become you
