know then how I hate you
how the hate binds us to ourselves
how the old growth on our hillside
will cling like divinity to what it knows
know then how the song goes
there is no center path my child
you are I and I am wild
bonded breed and blood and kind
no purer form than mine or thine
have care have care the shades you share
you have a past of ashes dear
care not for that of which you wear
but of that which has born you
know then how I hate you
how you are yours and yours is mine
how all our agonies combine as one
denying aught but imperegnum
know then how the song goes
this purest form distances not
from flames and ancient holocaust
not twists to hide from hollow shells
that wear no more than fell's salvation
curry aught but angst your nation
rises stronger - shame creation child
the will is wilder than the foe
and the foe is you, know, no?
know than how I hate you
for you are mine and I am yours
know then how my satisfaction
comes from only our distraction
by that we overcome
