I'm driving
upside down, something leather
cuts into my eyelids
knees against the handle, a cheerful red sign
just above B this door is child-safe
the last thing I remember
somehow I'm still breathing
tape over my mouth makes each breath a sob
rattling moan of sinus and sense
engine oil and dirt, a metal rod cool against my cheek
I can smell the family dog here
toes up in the dark
maybe he keeps a wife and kids at home
maybe he does this for kicks
