I was once informed brusquely -
annihilation was a necessary hurting
that in the destruction of one's being
one could reduce every action to perfection
one can comfortably kill any emotion
like picking a flower, reach into the heart
plucking petals, one for I love him,
one for I love her not - simplicity
itself a condition bordering on emotion
one might crush
and of the writers crying for love,
I wonder did they consider love secondary
to life - did honor fall prey to the cat
in the great elimination?
