The Lords In Dance
December 22, 1994
in that terrible light they danced on
specters then as I
formal bowing - heavy gale
down before the doors fell I
the hinges burst with sudden rain
glass white stone they danced on
their veils spun in patterns lost
deceived my eyes back where I lay
in flitters and shadows they danced on
the open door cast them no eye
their pale grasp upon the floor
one more set of roots left lie to fade
in that play of gas and fire they danced on
clothes shattering to treads
caught in the jerk and change of their motion
back there on the floor I lay - trying to dance
my broken form in that flaring sun twitched on
