A Friend Remembered
August 10, 1992
what color were her eyes
so small a thing I should remember
I am visual
how could I forget
she has been gone for but a month now
and I look at her pictures
but the resolution, so low
her eyes show up only as black and shadow
the rest is clear
she was my best of friends
unique
and I remember so much
and so much is lost to fallible memory
how much of her am I loosing
fading and washing in the sea that is time
will she fit my memory when next I see her
or does memory contort
will she ever be real to me again
