The Light
1990
I realize now, though it's too late
that we have gone too far
we have destroyed ourselves with our carelessness
taken our world with us
look, out over the darken'd plains
see the cold hard mountains' tops
see the scars what we have left
the troubles we have caused
remember? they said we were playing with fire
well, we got our fire - and with it gave them death
yet now we realize it is our end too
and the fire we released will have us all
