bbs.geminispace.org has been upgraded to Bubble v4. This week's feature update adds some useful new tools and fixes several bugs.
You can now mute posts, subspaces, and individual users to hide them and notifications related to them. Together with follows, this allows tailoring what one sees in their Bubble feeds with quite a lot of precision.
In practice, muting is a combination of silencing and blocking that is dependent on a couple of factors:
Every feed can now be filtered based on tags. Look for the "๐ท๏ธ Tags" link on feed pages next to the Search action.
For instance, this is useful for finding all the polls:
It's good to note that tag filtering applies to the Gemfeed and Tinylog outputs as well, so with this you can easily set up sub-feeds specific to a particular topic.
A new type of export was added: a monthly archive with all posts and comments in every subspace, including user feeds. The feature is not exposed in the UI in v4.0 yet but it is still accessible via a URL for signed-in users:
/export/month/YYYY-MM.gpub
I have exported an archive covering last month if you want to check out what the output looks like:

Shouldn't a post, a user has commented on, automatically be followed? Then a user could just click "unfollow" to mute it. This would achieve the same results like muting a post.
When you comment on a post, you automatically start receiving the "replied in discussion" notifications. This is basically a "soft" follow that you don't need to manually manage. I felt that using the follow mechanism for every single commented thread would get cumbersome.
The difference now is only the respective "Follow post" not being ticked automatically, even though the functionality has been applied, and the need for an additionally "Mute post" the mitigate this.
What happens if I select the previously never selected "Follow post" if the post has been muted? Does it turn follow on and mute off or does it have no impact at all?
Many side-effects in one feature IMHO.

Follow and mute are mutually exclusive, you can only have one.
Also, "replied in discussion" can be disabled separately in notification settings.
