I hear ideas on why Gemtext needs to have *Insert markdown idea here* (humor of using italic markdown not lost here) and the thing is, if there ever is some "update" to Gemtext it ought to be something "we†" all agree upon. Because if not, well that's Jack Dorsey and you don't want to be **that** guy.

There's nothing wrong with spinning up a markdown flavor for gemini, or spinning up another small protocol with the features you like. The whole point of small protocols is you can spin it up yourself without needing to find consensus, to test different ideas fast. Consensus kills. · 1 month ago
