A gust of cold, wet wind came from under the door, moving some of the papers, alongside the noise of my roommate, Nicholas, entering our apartment.
Now, my relationship with Nick - we were roommate since the last September, but we don't know each other that much - he surely doesn't know the subject of my studies - even if hadn't been able to hide them to him. At least he didn't complain when I asked him not to enter my room.
I was now awake again, so I tried to go back to find a sense of those complex shapes, at least until he knocked on my door. I didn't have the time to ask him what he wanted, that he started talking:
<< Hey, I noticed the printer was warm. Did I remember to tell you that's broken? >>
I jumped to my feet and went to open the door in a hurry.
<< Broken? What do you mean with broken?! >>
He looked at me surprised, before answering.
<< Well, I think the paper moves to the left while printing.. so images get all inclined.. >>
He continued to look at me, his expression between confusion and mild concern.
