acdw recently wrote about writing something every day for 100 days[1]. I'm not on social media so I do not know the hashtag (fun fact, I dont think I've ever used a hashtag in my life and still refer to '#' as a pound sign) #100daystooffload, nor what it means... but if it is encouraging people to write I approve. Particularly if it is encouraging them to write more than status updates or tweets or the like. I look forward to reading what you write and I'm sure will look forward to it as part of my evening reading (after my wife and daughter are asleep I stay up a bit and read gopher/gemini and then whatever novel I am reading).

maleza wrote a bit about plan9 and project oberon on their gemlog[2]. I am still baffled at how to get plan9 or 9front onto a system. I've never really used qemu or virtual box so have not tried that route. I have read the 9front fqa, and while the tone of the writing is enjoyable as is their general vibe/style... I dont feel like I can successfully get a bootable USB for my thinkpad with following it, unless I'm just missing something... which is possible. I did confirm that my thinkpad model is supported though! So that is cool. Do most people running Plan9 run it emulated on a host system or is it more common to run on hardware directly? I'd like to keep BSD on my thinkpad so maybe I should dig into qemu a bit, or maybe dual booting is doable? Though that adds further complication to something that I am already struggling with.

I had not heard about project oberon this and did manage to get an emulator[3] running on my system (for once someone's c code compiled without issue on my system). It seems cool and seems very similar in some regards to what I know about plan9. I didnt really have anything to do in the emulator and couldnt figure out if there were userspace programs included or not... I'll do some more reading and play around with it a bit. It definitely seems interesting.
