Yeap, I am definitely agreeing with this. On my capsules, I have links going forward, but I don't have links going backwards or "home", for example. I don't think it's about being cool, I think it's just redundant and unnecessarily complicated. Gemini users should definitely pay attention to the URI that they are at. If you at a page of mine like:
gemini://kwiecien.us/gemlog/somepage.gmi
What you will know is that I have a capsule at "kwiecien.us" and "gemlog" is some thing on my capsule. If your browser doesn't have navigation functions to get you there, simply edit the URI manually. In the case of graphical browsers you should simply be able to backspace over the file and check out /gemlog/ if you desire. Otherwise, you can go to the site root and start exploring from there.
I stated this before a long time ago, but I think browsers should provide these navigation features, and it shouldn't be left up to content creators. Having it done in the browser would be best to encourage both users and content creators to learn and follow a universal hierarchical structure.
