We've become accustomed to presidents ruling by decree. Of course congress is too far gone to do anything beyond the will of the oligarchy, which is why these orders feel justified. They are great when we like the result, but they normalize dictatorship. The next president's attitudes my not reflect our values in the same way, but will have the same powers.
Yes, I want right to repair to be a norm protected by law, but the reliance upon decree is no less unsettling. Worse, the citizenry's enthusiasm for "winning" when their issues are addressed by executive order demonstrates only one thing: they neither understand nor desire democracy.
