'A proper gentleman': Warm tributes paid upon sad passing of former
Limerick councillor
Paying tribute this Wednesday, Mayor of the City and County of
Limerick, Cllr Francis Foley said: "I had the pleasure of serving on
the then Limerick County Council with Eddie Creighton. He was a total
gentleman, always extremely courteous and a great person to give solid
advice no matter what party you represented. For him it was all about
what was in the best interest of Limerick. He chaired the council with
a fair hand and was a great public representative for the people in his
electoral area. I want to extend my condolences to his wife Peg and all
his family. May he rest in peace.”
Chief Executive of Limerick City and County Council Dr Pat Daly added:
"Eddie was extremely amiable and was well respected and liked by both
councillors and staff at Limerick County Council. He made a significant
contribution to the work of the local authority. Our thoughts are with
Eddie’s wife Peg, sons Denis and Mark, daughter Mary and all his family
at this difficult time.”
Eddie is sadly missed by his wife Peg, his sons Denis and Mark, his
daughter Mary and his extended family.
