Ciaran Mather, 24 May
A defendant who appeared before Naas District Court on Thursday, May
18, via video-link has been accused of assaulting 'a good Samaritan.'
The allegation relates to one Zack Pitt, with an address listed as 86
Brayton Park in Kilcock, but who is currently serving a custodial
sentence for other offences.
Judge Desmond Zaidan was told by gardaà that the 23-year-old had
allegedly been involved in an argument with his girlfriend at
Accommodation Road in Leixlip on the evening of April 30, 2021.
When another man came to her aid, Mr Pitt allegedly assaulted him.
The alleged assault caused him to suffer bleeding and bruising to his
face, gardaà claimed.
A photograph of the injuries sustained by the man, which gardaà alleged
was caused by Mr Pitt, was shown to Judge Zaidan.
After viewing the photograph, Judge Zaidan remarked: "It shows how
dangerous it can be to get involved (in an argument)."
The judge accepted jurisdiction over the case and adjourned it to June
15 for hearing.
