Daragh Nolan, 24 May
A festival of golf, music and entertainment is in store this September
at The K Club as Scouting for Girls and The Stunning will headline the
main stage at the Horizon Irish Open.
Scouting for Girls, known for hits such as She’s So Lovely, Elvis Ain’t
Dead and This Ain’t a Love Song, will take to the main stage in the
Championship Village on Saturday September 9.
The English pop rock band are on Tour with Olly Murs in the UK this
Summer before taking to the stage in Co. Kildare.
Formed by Steve Wall in Galway, this will be The Stunning’s first time
playing the Horizon Irish Open. The Brewing Up A Storm singers will
perform on Sunday September 10. Both acts will take to the stage once
the final putt drops each evening.
After a hugely successful hosting in 2016, the island of Ireland’s
national open will return to The K Club when the 68th edition is played
from September 6 to 10.
The celebrity Pro-Am will take place on Wednesday September 7. It
promises to be a star studded event with names to be announced in the
coming weeks.
Taking to the course this September is four-time Major winner Rory
McIlroy, 2009 Irish Open winner Shane Lowry, two-time winner on the PGA
TOUR, Séamus Power and six-time DP World Tour winner Tyrrell Hatton.
Further star names will also be announced between now and September.
Horizon Irish Open Championship Director, Paul Gillmon said, “It
promises to be a spectacular week at The K Club as we now have a full
five days of golf, music and entertainment for all ages. I’m delighted
we’ve secured The Stunning as well as Scouting for Girls, who went down
a treat when they played at the tournament a few years ago. The
celebrity Pro-Am is always a great addition to the tournament and is a
fun day to kick off the week.
Tickets are on sale now and your ticket will secure access to the golf,
music and all of the entertainment happening on site. There’s something
for everyone and we’re looking forward to a wonderful festival for
sports fans, music fans and families.”
Tickets are available from dpworldtour.com and begin at 25 euro for the
Pro-Am with single tickets for Thursday costing 40 euro. Tickets for
Friday cost 50 euro and Saturday and Sunday tickets are 55 euro. Access
to the Championship village and performances is included. Children
under 12 years of age are entitled to free entry when accompanied by an
adult.
