Word-count leaderboard was added as a compromize -- I don't think I want to make it super-competitive and it seems that a points competition is worse than word count. Also word-counts provide a hint about the puzzle complexity, and more of an inspiration than a competition. Or so I think. That is why I did not provide a point leaderboard.
As for definition links -- that is not a bad idea and I will probably do it sometime soon. Although I reserve the right to add occasional word not defined in Merriam-Webster's. And I try to keep the game playable by eliminating the more obscure definitions -- it is a balancing act.
