For as long as I know the UK has needed a special license for driving an HGV. A heavy goods vehicle. A Lorry. It's an additional test on top of the normal driving license. But now, due to the driver shortage we have, the government is considering letting people with a normal license do this job. This would let me drive a lorry with over 40 metric tonnes of cargo down the motorway at 60mph! Yikes. What could go wrong.
