Hello Julian,

I spoke with you by telephone a few years ago about allowing the GS Numeric
program for the Apple IIgs to be allowed to be made available as a freeware. In
that conversation you agreed to allow it's distribution as a freeware. In
preparation to make an archive of the GS Numeric program disk, as a ShrinkIt GS
archive, I discovered my original and its backup disks had become corrupted
with age and could not be archived.

After a long search, I finally obtained another GS Numeric disk that is fine.
I need to get an email reply from you now - stating that it's OK to make the GS
Numeric ShrinkIt archive available as a freeware - so that I can upload it to
our few remaining Apple IIgs public ftp sites for use by the few remaining
users for the Apple IIgs.

I called your number above earlier this week and your wife said you'd be back
by today or tomorrow. Tried calling you today and got no answer. So, I'm
sending you this email and asking for an email reply to allow me to do this.

I think it might be a good idea also to include in your email reply that as a
freeware, it is not to be included in any commercially sold bundle, CD, etc.
but, rather is to be made available as a freeware without cost, via ShrinkIt
archive format only.

Thanks and I'll be looking forward to your reply.

Sincerely,
Tom

Here is the AOL email from the copyright holder of GSNumerics giving me
permission to make it available as a freeware reclassification title. I found
both when cleaning up one of my hard drives today.

Tom,

You have permission to make the GSNumerics Programs available as
freeware, as outlined in your e-mail of September 19, 1998.

Julian L. Pugh
Spring Branch Software, Inc.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Should anybody care to varify this they can reach the author and copyright
holder of GSNumerics (Julian L. Pugh) by email at AOL or as noted above.

His exact email address is:

hilltopd@aol.com

This post is being made to clear up any questions some people have expressed in
the past concerning the reclassification of GSNumerics from its commercial
status to freeware status. I trust that Willie Yeo and the people who maintain
the gno.org site, as well as the Delphi A2 archive library will now be able to
make the archive available for public access and download needs without any
question - as a reclassified freeware.

I ask Willie Yeo and others that do make the archive available from their
archive sites, web sites, etc. to give notice with the archive of GSNumerics
stating that I do deserve credit for the reclassification efforts with
GSNumerics, by including this post with the archive.

Should anybody care to download the GSNumerics archive it is available
from my web site from the following URL.

http://www.grin.net/~cturley/OSRL/GS.Numerics.Freeware/GSnumerics.SDK

The GSNumerics archive is also available from the Ground ftp site from
this URL.

ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/apple2/apple16/Misc/GSnumerics.SDK

TIA and Cheers,
Tom
