I just got roasted by an automated email from the computer science department at my school. They say I need to review basic logic:
I just left gmail for Migadu :)
Hopefully self hosting is still in my future but this is a huge improvement for the time being.
As someone who understands these things very little, it seems to me that a Gemini plain text (or even gemtext) email client might be very nice indeed. Is this a bad idea? Is it feasible?
I can think of a few drawbacks, but none that would be absolutely prohibitive.
having a hard day. not enough sleep is #1, but also just pissed about how much time I spent driving around being lost, and hurt and confused about something with my gf
got quite the headache as well
My MIT application is due in 70 hours ๐ฌ๐คจ I'm not ready...
I kinda suck at not procrastinating (which is demonstrated by my presence here).
From Cornel West and Jeremy Tate's recent opinion piece:
Schooling is not education. Education draws out the uniqueness of people to be all that they can be in the light of their irreducible singularity. It is the maturation and cultivation of spiritually intact and morally equipped human beings.

It's so easy to forget about gemini but such a delight to remember. I've been doing a lot of messing since I discoved gemini through lab6.com in July. I finally made myself a personal website at https://satch.xyz, created my own IRC server for my friends, created a personal searx instance, etc.
But it is a time draw. It's a lot of fun and I learn a lot, but I am in my senior year of high school and trying to get my homework done and apply to MIT and all this stuff is fun but do I really have time for it... ? It's WAY more addicting to me than normie social media lol because I'm not turned off in the same way
This is my first log. I just discovered these corners of the internet a couple of weeks ago, after following a link from Hacker News which led me to Lab6 (initially on the web).

Now I am a part of the tildeverse, I'm on Gemini using the Lagrange Client, and I'm slowly creating a website I built myself on a VPS, instead of using a service like Wordpress or (even worse, I know lol) Google Sites.
I'm glad to be here!
