ADT

Apple Disk Transfer
Created by Paul Guertin (pg@sff.net)

ref: ADT_2004.zip

ADT (Apple Disk Transfer) lets you transfer 5.25" 16-sector disks from
your Apple II to your PC. It will also transfer standard 5.25" .dsk disk image
files from the PC to a formatted 5.25" diskette on the Apple II. The connection
is a fairly simple NULL modem link between serial ports using standard cables
and adaptors.

ADT is a pair of dedicated telecom transfer programs-- one for Apple II
running under DOS 3.3 and one for the other computer (almost always a PC).
The PC-side program is named "adt.exe" for the Windows version or "adtdos.exe"
for the MS-DOS version.

There are several versions of the Apple II-side program to fit different
models and serial interfaces. The program (e.g. adt.dmp) is a block of code
designed to be dumped from PC to an Apple II running DOS 3.3 via a simple
Text transfer to the monitor which requires no special software on the Apple II.

Once both sides are installed, ADT transfer speed typically ranges from
9600 baud through 19,200 baud.

The 2004 Distribution

This distribution reorganizes the most popular versions of ADT. There are
no changes to the various program files.

ADT_2004 includes both the Windows and MS-DOS programs for the PC side
as well as the three most popular Apple II-side programs:

PC side

o- Windows32 version of PC-side program is adt.exe.

o- MS-DOS version of PC-side program is now adtdos.exe.

Apple II side

o- ADTssc- This is the original ADT (now at version 1.22). It is
intended for use on an Apple II equipped with Apple's Super Serial
Card (SSC) or a compatible card.

dump file to transfer: adt.dmp or adtn.dmp

o- ADTcc- This is an adaptation of ADT (now at version 1.21) intended
for use on an Apple II equipped with the Apple Communications Card
and other, generally older, non-SSC cards.

dump file to transfer: ADTcc.dmp

o- ADTgs- This is an adaptation of ADT intended only for transferring
disks from PC to an Apple IIgs. It uses the the built-in IIgs modem
