About a week ago I was in Tallahassee visiting people important to me. On the drive through town I saw a city bus completely wrapped in a lawyer's advertisement whose tag line was "Slip and Fall". All around the 6 foot high letters was depicted paper money falling from the sky like the fictional? manna from heaven. In my youth "bread" was a common euphemism for paper money used in both black and white hippie culture: "Hey, you got some bread man?"
Yesterday I took the dog for a walk in the sandy byways and she tracked and shed a bunch of sand in the house onto our tile floors. My wife is cheerfully resigned to sandy floors as a cost of living with animals. She told me she half slipped yesterday. She could easily have broken a bone or hit her head and the sorrows of old age would have begun in earnest.
