Minister praises ‘success’ of Local Enterprise Office in Limerick

Cathal Doherty, 25 Apr

Minister of State for Employment Affairs and Retail Business Neale

Richmond said the success of the Local Enterprise Office in Limerick

(LEO) can be seen “clearly through the success” of companies such as

Titan Sports and their “ambitious” plans for the future.

Minister Richmond visited the Leo offices to hear about the work being

undertaken currently by the Limerick team.

This LEO centre based in Cecil Street, Limerick, provides support to

start-ups and entrepreneurs in developing their ideas through industry

mentoring, knowledge sharing and leveraging the latest emerging

technologies and design thinking methods.

The Minister was greeted at the Limerick LEO by Olivia O'Sullivan,

Cathaoirleach of the Metropolitan District of Limerick, Mike Cantwell,

LEO Head of Enterprise and Vincent Murray, Director of Economic

Development.

Later, Minister Richmond travelled to Titan Sports where he met John

O’Grady, Head of Operations. Titan Sports, which has been in business

for over 10 years, now produces all its medals using recycled metal and

as part of its sustainability, it makes T-shirts from recycled plastic

bottles. Their product range also includes cycling wear, hoodies,

jackets and a wide variety of T-shirts.

“I am delighted to visit the Limerick Local Enterprise Office and meet

with the LEO team and LEO client John from Titan Sports. Meeting

businesses across the country is one of the most rewarding aspects of

my role and it is great to meet such a dynamic company,” the minister

said.

“Limerick is a county with so much to offer and it is great to see the

dedication the LEO team has to local businesses here and their

commitment to the growth and success of their clients,” he added.
