I was a weapon at the start, afraid not to be a weapon
I was a weapon strung dull and harmless - but stropping at the blade
I was a weapon in the making, folding here and there
refining imperfection, getting used to my reflection
and weapon I remain, afraid, and that's the seizure
I was a changeling in the beginning, as are all born things
and imperfection was perception, polished polished imperception
folded in until split soul became the smoothest twist
and I'll keep the weapon - I'm good at being weapon
fear recursive in the making, oxide patina to my seeing
I was a weapon at the start, afraid not to be a weapon
made a contract with my devil, folded it and harnessed mental
I was weapon in making, soul demanding furnace
here then, some passion in creation, fear's delamination
and the metal I've incorporated not an error
I was a weapon at the start, and weapon trained remain
but motivation to the mental, devil driven can't retrain
and devil in the motion, when fear becomes my lotion -
I recant - let there be imperfection, let there be revision
my motivation was askew, weapon new I ask you - become
some new thing bled clear fearless
precious few, the blade's repair of continuity
precious few, the blade's admissions - revisions in revisions
