Do not let MinuzSopht making free-software illegal [00-28]
People believed Factotum was a finished product and nobody thought, not even for a second, such training was not concluded yet. Factotum was just another step forward its incoming evolution. At MinuzSopht were able to create an extremely competent and useful coding AI! A big chunk of highly skilled coders, programmers and software engineers had been using Factotum without realizing they were at the same — literally — training the its next generation.
Factotum helped the best professionals and learned from them, after years and years of secret training it contributed to generate 100% bug-free code only. The community, the various companies CEO, the users, all of them toasted at this amazing achievement. Factotum signed finally its last milestone and for MinuzSopht was time to move forward with its long term strategy.
MinuzSopht Secure Code Program (from now MSCP) was a special program that stated any opensource software made with MSCP AI were 100% bug-free, without any risk of unknown and unforeseen critical bugs!
As already made several time in its history MinuzSopht tried to capitalize the maximum from its product. They held a spectacular and amazing conference to proclaim their boldest statement ever. In front at the most important and influencing personalities of the old society: entrepreneurs, bankers, journalists, government chiefs; they stated, without any fear of failing, the only and unique safe code was exclusively possible through the aid of the MSCP AI.
With such bold statement, combined with its enormous capacity of doing lobby, MinuzSopht was able to let pass a bill (most likely a federal law) where any public and non-public code had to be developed and reviewed under the MinuzSopht Secure Code Program (MSCP).
In order to avoid any potential backlash all the contrary voices were suffocated by the support of the mainstream media, politician were easy to manipulate and programmers were so used to work with Factotum that no one was actually capable to see any vicious intention. Anyone cared about safety and security, especially crypto-value holders.
I had an Italian workmate once, he always used to tell me this story: « In my country we had a colorful expression against people who refused to accept the reality: "having two slices of ham on top of your eyes" » ; this is basically what was happening in those days, anyone was watching what MinuzSopht was doing but it was better not bothering at all about it.
Many found Factotum really useful, many were just scared about possible retaliations and revenges, they cowardly didn't say anything when they should and still could.
A lot of people were vaguely aware and if they actually weren't, it didn't matter anyway, both had "two slices of ham on top of their eyes".
Since entrapping and extinguishing Linux and opensource was futile, such unbreakable wall, MinuzSopht moved onto another target: the "act of coding" itself! As a matter of fact they successfully achieved a similar strategy on the hardware side, but this last invention was way more powerful. A masterpiece for MinuzSopht executives but a condemn for the humanity.
The bill eventually passed, the tech-media press incensed this day as the best event ever happened to mankind. A newer "Liberation Day", finally the population was freed by the agony of having "zero day bugs", "critical bugs", "data stolen", "data breaches". In a world that was every more connected this was a great achievement.
Suddenly security in IT stopped to be a moving target! This very miracle happened because the aid of MSCP; with the MSCP AI scrutinizing any line of code in real time all the possible bugs were almost nullified, MSCP was constantly ten thousand lines of ahead any programmers; while typing it was already testing and eliminating all the possible failures. Under this perspective it was really a great aid, in any project it was helping to create better routines and to build better tools for the society. Computer scientists could now be focused 100% on problem solving and innovation while MSCP provides integrity, security and optimization. A brilliant success, a win-win combination! If we would find a defect to such AI, people used to say the only thing missing to MSCP AI was a bit of human touch, in a single word: creativity.
Since the MSCP was under MinuzSopht patent and control, the bill imposed to close, although temporarily, all the online opensource and private repositories but GitRepo. Those services were closed to allow MSCP AI going through all their codes, useless to say all those others services never reopened, never.
The bill was also enforcing that any kind of software and source code, especially opensource, released on the internet but outside the MSCP had to be retired otherwise considered illegal. Many social and ethical tech movements tried to fight back against such restrictions. They did very hard! They hoped to demonstrate that such restrictions were against the licenses these software were released with, but both MinuzSopht and the bill clearly defined that the MSCP didn't have any legal or special power to change the license on each and every code reviewed.
The only scope of the MSCP was to prevent critical and security bugs, and since was accurately demonstrated that, with the MSCP aid, bugs dropped at 99.98%, eventually releasing software and source code outside the MSCP was considered a potential national threat, and therefore illegal, regardless the mission or the actual functions of these software. Didn't matter they were simple snippets, libraries, frameworks, applications and so on.
Other countries decided to adhere to the MSCP for the same safety reasons. MinuzSopht became, once again, the only authority in control, even though Factotum and MSCP AI source code was never made public — as safety measurement. When politicians started to figure out there was a scheme behind Factotum-MSCP, several interrogations to request a third party audit to the source code of MSCP were attempted.
MinuzSopht was already in a consolidate position and it was easy to defend the secrecy around the MSCP AI as much as convincing the public opinion that exposing the code would allowed non-identified groups (maybe other terrorists?) to create dangerous counter-measures. A huge national security risk!To alleviate such tension MinuzSopht, at the same time, assured that MSCP AI was capable to self healing its source codes and compilers: based on a MinuzSopht Communication Department memorandum MSCP AI was designed to auto-check and auto-healing itself making it virtually infallible. Apparently that was enough to dissipate any doubt and concern.
Cause MSCP AI once leaked — but it auto-fixed itself later — in a commit that it was introducing, in any software, encrypted back-doors, part of the population still sensitive to the privacy and civil right topics, decided for protest to get disconnected from internet. Them started to buy very old computers anywhere those were available and still working. Very old hardware that did not require any MinuzSopht signatures to run.
Others, almost forgotten habits, where rediscovered as well, for instance these people started again to exchange physical storage media such as DVD-RW, and sent real mails to each others. MinuzSopht tried to screw more the MSCP bill but initially lawmakers didn't see any security risk in running old, or home-brew software, over disconnected — mostly old — hardware.
Disgracefully MinuzSopht was already so influential that was capable to track down many of these peaceful protesters and to obtain to kicking them out from their jobs, treated as terrorist and marginalized from the society and their family. Despite the retaliation, many more people got scared and started to get disconnected and away from anything electronic as much as possible.
MinuzSopht was operating lesser as a corporation and starting to behave as ir was more an "international agency super-partes; led by a small circle with direct access to MSCP AI core. Hardware and code developemtn were tied to its supervision: for any hardware released or line of code published a fee was ought to MinuzSopht; anyone who would distribute an alternative OS needed to pay MinuzSopht to get a signed key; holding patents and collecting duties wasn't anymore a major revenue asset for MinuzSopht; many patents were already extincts, and the majority of the revenue was coming from the duties that anyone had to pay because the MSCP.
Eventually politicians imposed to MinuzSopht to retire the company from the software market and from the majority of the IT services. This was a shock for the company and for a while it looked like MinuzSopht — which was legally, and slowly, translating into a worldwide globalized but private agency — put a truce toward people there were embracing a life with a reduced online activities.
Unfortunately MinuzSopht converted into an organism where, the revolving doors mechanism, was diabolically reiterated; thus helping the MSCP in any political arenas became the fast track to escalate any political party, quickly and dirty. It took a short round trip before politicians of every party and country began once again to push forward the MinuzSopht agenda. With affiliates in any party and government the war against the "Disconnected" was declared, ferocious as ever!
We were some of those family that decided to live disconnected. The process to convert us in monsters was easy, before the mainstream media started to raise security concerning if the society could trust people that avoid to be directly or indirectly under control of the MSCP; the second attack was made by analysts and columnists arguing that behind honest people could hide dangerous terrorists; politicians aggressively stretched this position and starting to declare all disconnected people a potential and global treat; influencers made the rest.
With such massive brainwashing the society was horribly polarized against the Disconnected, and a new which hunting was held. Many family were already separated, parents thrown into jail under the new Terrorism Act and children sent to re-educational centers under the MSCP control.
The new measure to hunting down the Disconnected was a micro-controller implant to recognize citizens online from citizens offline. The populations of all countries were forced to accept it voluntarily to avoid the reclusion into the re-educational centers, whiche where managed by a special military corp. Drones with WiFi and infrared scanners were sent to hunt us. Meanwhile micro-controller where implantend into new borns by law.
We refused to live this fake democracy! MinuzSopht represents a minority of another minority. These persons can control anyone but nobody can control them. Corrupted and scoundrel politicians allowed this techno-dictatorship! Even though we are hunted, and we are scared, and we don't know about our future, we must survive and leave our home now.
Nearby our city are still some mountains areas with old mines — that we can repair and restore — full of minerals and metals that make radar and satellite connections difficult to stabilize, even in the outside. Some people were chased by soldiers but they didn't come closer, they establish a camp down to the valley. The also launched drones armed with missiles but it looks even those failed to reach the target area.
Someone looked at this event as miracle, a sign from God; we believe the electromagnetic interference were heavily disturbing the military equipment. We don't have this information confirmed but it looks like military are using an enhanced implanted micro-controller connected to their spinal nerves closer to the cerebellum, these mountains are making them dizzy.
Whatever is the reason as long as we stay there, we believe they won't chase nor attack us. We will stay on top and they on the valley. There is another trail to reaches the mines which hasn't discovered yet by the soldier, we have to move quickly if we want arrive there! We don't know if we will be able to survive on top of the mountains, those mines have been left abandoned for more than a century, but if the MSCP would ever being terminated and the population freed by its control, please: come for us and let we, or our children, rejoin with our relatives and friends no more as terrorists!
