Of all the things I write as a programmer, I still love writing a little CLI app more than anything else. Handling basic input and output and leaving behind all the web/app UX concerns is just so refreshing.

The first thing I ever wrote in Python was a very elaborate, Steampunk fiction-themed calculator. It had all sorts of flavor text about notifying the authorities for misuse of Imperial resources if you entered an invalid operand. It was great. · 10 months ago
