This was my first time re-watching this movie since the first time I'd watched it years ago. I remembered I enjoyed it when i saw it last so I thought I'd give it another watch. And what do you know, I loved it.
This movie is an awesome comedic action movie with two bona fide A-list celebrities with undeniable chemistry. And I believe the chemistry between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is what makes this movie so great.
The plot is very simple which I like in my action movies once in a while. Sometimes, I just want to focus on the action and set pieces and not have to worry about what the big bad guy's master plan is.
Speaking of action, this movie has plenty of it. The minivan chase scene and big house gun battle were imprinted on my mind from my initial watch, and watching them again only reinforced how iconic they were to me. This movie is a non-stop thrill ride from start to finish.
Circling back to the chemistry between Pitt and Jolie, it practically oozed from every scene they had together. Their domestic banter felt real and believable, like they'd actually been married for five to six years. And their physical chemistry was front and center as well. I think that's why it didn't shock me that they got together for real after this movie.
Overall, if you've never seen this movie or it's been a couple years since you last did, I highly recommend checking it out.
