Swedish summer time just started. Ugh... They stole an hour of my life! Can we just stop this madness, please? It's difficult as it is to get up in the morning.
Work is quite intense. The web shop should have opened on March 23 but it isn't open yet. I've been going back and forth to Gothenburg every week for a while.
Wednesday last week I worked to ~23. Thursday to 0:30. I was quite tired on Friday and promptly went to sleep on the train home from Gothenburg. The mood last weekend wasn't great and started to think that maybe computers were a mistake?
This week I've been back in Gothenburg again, working late most evenings. Unfortunately I missed an interesting RISC-V meetup in Gothenburg where Joachim mentioned Tillitis and TKey several times.
While P is preparing for the Paris marathon I'm having a marathon of a sort myself.
The hotel was a bit odd last week. I was given the BDSM room, or something. There was quite sturdy pipes mounted on the ceiling and chains hanging down from them! I wonder... The *two* double beds clearly indicated you weren't supposed to be alone in this room. I, alas, was alone.
The hotel this week is different. No chains, to start with. Also very close to the office. Nothing special, but on the other hand I've hardly been here!
I came home to Malmö last night and started to pack for Paris and taking the day off today but, of course, I will have to attend one meeting.
On a positive note I've received two very nice used HP Z24i monitors with IPS panels for just ~700 SEK each. I've already changed the monitor on my personal workstation from a 27" to one of these beauties. Ok, they're only 1920x1200 but I think this is what I want, really.
I'm glad I don't have a 34" superwide at work anymore but I'm starting to think that my 27" is also too wide. And it's a 4K thing which might not be too good for my eyes, really. OK, yeah, pollen, I know, but my eyes are really tired after having used a high DPI screen for a couple of hours.
I'm still lusting for the square Eizo FlexScan EV2730Q, of course, but I think it's too expensive.

Last Friday my boss ran out of the office and came back with a Macbook Air for me to bring home. We have been experiencing some hard to diagnose problems on macOS and I agree it makes sense that I have one.
I spent some time during the weekend installing and configuring stuff. Of course I have Emacs on the thing in a glorious green on black and with LSP and all the goodies you need.
I'm a bit surprised that a) the Mac doesn't lock the screen when you close the lid, and b) that it doesn't have full-disk encryption by default. Maybe it didn't turn FDE on because I opted out of the iCloud thing? In both cases it's easy to turn on, though.
The hardware is really nice. I like that it's fanless and fast. Probably having the RAM inside the same package as the CPU accounts for some of the speed. I don't like the Swedish keyboard on it, though. It's got one of those L-shaped return keys which is just to thin.
I don't like the constant buzz I get from the wrist rest when the Macbook is connected to mains. I think it's just because it's not grounded. Why didn't they deliver it with a grounded power plug!?
I grew tired of the Dino XMPP client and went back to Profanity. Yes, yes, I know, but the interface is so much nicer. Still on OMEMO, of course, but please just use:

Haven't found any time to work on my own client in many months.
I'm leaving with train for Paris later today. A little vacation and P is running Paris marathon.
It seems most e-mail messages to Gmail recipients are coming through now, but many are still in the spam folder. If you're expecting mail from hack.org addresses, please look in your spam folder and mark it as "not spam". Thank you.
My Gemini capsule is now on both IP v4 and v6 instead of being v6-only. I also moved the Gemini server to my main server in colo instead of a box at home.
I'm thinking about offering Gemini capsule space for everyone who has an account on my shell box. Something like ~/public_gem that is automatically synchronized to the Gemini server.
Speaking of the colo server I might need to do something with it. It complains in logs about ECC corrections so either I change the complaining memory stick or replace the entire server. My friendly colo host has been asking me to exchange the huge tower thing I have to something that fits in a rack so perhaps I'll just buy something else.
Found some rather nice used 1U boxes from a vendor but the Paris trip made it impossible to order right now. I'll revisit this when I come back and just hope that the main box copes a while longer.
