We want to provide a different Internet experience to our members: a minimalistic, private, corporate-free one, while fostering a sense of community in the centralized and increasingly sterile Web. AltesqNET has a focus on asynchronous communication, which is performed via the shell, e-mail or our internal forum. No one is in a hurry here, you can wind down and take your time.
Think of this as a personal retreat. You come and go as you please, while having friendly faces and well-rounded services at your disposal. You're not obliged to enter frequently, no one measures your activity here. Imagine digital pen pals, while on a shared Linux server, with a commitment to being slow. It's a small VPS that we all share for our enjoyment. AltesqNET is democratically owned by the members.
AltesqNET has various services for our members, you can see a list below. Generally, the services should be accessible via the CLI, and should be as minimal as possible. Open to suggestions!
In order to join, send an e-mail to evenfire [AT] altesq dot net with three things: why you want to register, your desired ~login, and your SSH pubkey. It's as simple as that.
