Mood: Tired

ER Visit

Caffeinating heavily this morning after a tiring and eventful night. My spouse left yesterday morning for some work travel. Last night our 2 year old fell in the hallway and cut his head open on the corner of the baseboard molding. He is ok but it bled quite a bit and needed more medical attention than I could provide at home. Three and a half hours and 2 staples later the three of us finally made it back home. It was 12:30 AM by time the kids were in their beds. The four year old stayed up the entire time because the excitement and curiosity about the whole experience would not let him fall asleep until the car ride home from the hospital. On top of everything it was raining the whole time so I got pretty wet while loading and unloading two kids and a stroller and walking through the hospital parking lot by myself. Good times. The kid is a tough cookie and slept through almost the entire ordeal. Woke up to say "OWWW!" and cry for about 30 seconds when they did the staples then fell right back asleep in my arms. Now to try to keep the kids from playing as actively as they normally do for a little while as it heals.

PDA Stuff

I've been using the Palm daily still for various things. Grocery list, jotting quick notes, playing games, planning smolZINE, reading gemini, todo lists and writing my gemlog posts. I have found that the 5-10 minutes that it sits on the cradle as I run my daily digest script and sync the new content is enough charging to keep the battery full perpetually. Considering how much I'm using it that is super impressive. Love this thing! Yes, I'm writing on it right now.

I have also just ordered more paper for the pocket printer that I got for printing from the PDA. I may try to print out the smolZINE issues and put them on my shelf or something. After I released the last issue I printed the word search and the Fahrenheit Outpost instructions and sat out on the patio with a pencil and played them. It was nice.
