The history of pen-names is long and surprising. From Dr. Seuss to George Orwell, authors throughout history and from all cultures have used pseudonyms to various effects for nearly as long as the written word has existed.
For this capsule, and for my travels around geminispace and the small web as a whole, I use the pen-name Basil Mori to stay focused on a particular goal and a smaller genre of interests. This is a place where I can express my appreciation for things and present my thoughts on various topics in a long-form context.
This capsule is explicitly NOT a blog for me to talk about other projects or briefly log happenings in my day-to-day life like some online electronic blog. If I ever put that sort of thing online, expect it to be on a platform like Mastodon or Station.
I will make no real effort here to hide my usual name, but perhaps you can consider finding it an entertaining riddle--friends of mine or members of the Yesterweb who've already seen my Discord handle excluded, of course. Feel free to let me know if you think you've worked it out.
