A shock of yellows and reds and browns and greys presents itself all over the image, less the muted blue of the sky above. It's a bank of a ditch, lined with all the dead grasses and dormant shrubs that are coloring the scene. The ditch is not running yet, as it is still too early in the year to have most of the snow melting further up in the mountains, yet there IS just a little bit of water pooling in the bottom of the ditch, reflecting all the aforementioned colors.
