If you want your System 6 control panel to open faster than it already is (ie, you think opening the control panel is slow -- it should take about 2 seconds on a hard drive, not 5 seconds or more), you can try deleting the existing CDEV.DATA file in your */SYSTEM/CDEVS folder. This causes the Control Panel to rebuild the CDEV.DATA file and from then onwards the CP should open faster. Fwoooosh...
