  If you ever get a multi-colored snow explosion on your desktop, here's a 
way to clear it up without re-booting:
  Transfer to the main directory of one of your disk volumes.  Choose 
'New Folder' from the file menu.  Now, open the new folder and drag the 
snow-block into it (if you click in the right place, you can move the whole
thing), close the folder and trash it.  The snow is now melted.
