For those who keep gemlogs, I'm curious how much research you typicall do for each post. I often end up planning to write my thoughts on a given day, but feel the need to cross-reference my own ideas through writing and falling into some other rabbit hole

What I could suggest is trying to finish short texts first, and be open to make a few mistakes. Since english is not my main language I get obsessed on fixing typos and grammar for houres, to reach a similar 'quality' like I have on my mother language.
In a few days or years, those ideas could be outdated, so is not a big deal changing our minds.

Well... It depends a lot. Usually I start empyting my mind on a tool like ensō, like if I'm talking, and then I fix sytle.
