Lil Calendar is a versatile calendar and reminder program
using ZUNE/MUI 3.8+ and an existing functional SQLite3
installation in your path. SQLite3 may be found on Aminet
or already exists in icAros distributions. The Hollywood
SQLite plugin and MUIRoyale plugin are also required.
These can also be found on Aminet or the Hollywood web
site.
Easily move between months and years or use the 'Today'
button to return to today.
The preferences window allows turning on/off the titlebar
clock and display of seconds. Select between a 24 hour or
12 hour clock display (am/pm). Choose the first day of the
week as either Sunday or Monday. Change the background
color of today, busy days, and free days. The date is also
bolded to show days with scheduled items. The preferences
window also performs database maintenance tasks of emptying
the database of all items or only of past due items.
Click on a day to open the Item window. View all of the items
scheduled already for that day, remove an item, or add an
item by date, time, name, and multiline description. Lil
Calendar uses a very versatile, intuitive, and easy interface
using tabs for scheduling recurring items. Items can repeat
between 1 and 99 times.
The 'Once' tab allows you to schedule the item once on the
specified date and time.
Use the 'Daily' tab to schedule your item every 1 to 6 days
or only on workdays.
The 'Weekly' tab allows you to schedule your item every 1 to
51 weeks.
The 'Monthly' tab lets you schedule your item on the given
date every 1 to 11 months. You may also choose to schedule
your item, for example, on the third Monday of every third
month.
Use the 'Yearly' tab to schedule an item on the given date
every 1 to 99 years. Instead, you may choose to repeat an
item, for example, on the fourth Thursday of every November.
Using these features it was idiot proof to schedule ten
years worth of US National Holidays included in a separate
database that you may rename and use if you desire.
Included are executables for AROS i-386 and OS3+, an
applet for any Amiga-like system requiring the HollywoodPlayer,
the database (LilCalendar.db), a sampled sound for the alarm
(Alarm.wav), and this readme document. AROS requires
TextEditor Class v. 15.45 or lower or 15.53 (included) or higher
for the item description to be visible.
Double clicking the desired program will launch the app
which will find these required files. Of course you will
want to move the program to WBStartup. In that case use the
included tooltypes (Database=SYS:LilCalendar/LilCalendar.db and
Sound=SYS:LilCalendar/Alarm.wav) for example to indicate where
the required files reside on OS3+. Replace Alarm.wav if you
have a different sampled sound or rename the sound file if you
desire silence.
Lil Calendar may also be run from a shell using the -Database
and -Sound (-d -s) arguments to indicate the location of files.
