IM will usually be prescribed, but you can do subq for easier injections.
Subq effect is similar to IM.
This guide will assume doing subq which really only matters for the injection needle length.
Draw with a lower gauge ("bigger") needle so it fills the syringe easier. Don't
go much lower gauge than 22G due to damaging the stopper.

Switch to a higher gauge ("smaller") needle after gathering the correct amount
of medicine to ensure a sharp point (pain reduction) and the higher gauge
needle really helps a low pain injection. 30 gauge needles are very nice for this
1/2 inch for subq, or 1.5 inch for IM

Using 1mL syringes is very important for correct hydrolic pressure to quickly
inject. Must be luer lock to ensure the needles don't detach from the high
pressures. Ensure sterile individually wrapped syringes are obtained.

USE A SHARPS CONTAINER

Nice things to have
Alcohol wipes or spray for injection site. USA creatures: you can use HSA
reimbursments to stock up on basic first aid supplies.
