Demeanor

Faeries are, on average 10-inch tall winged humanoids. They are known for their agility and physical weakness. Their weakness and size make them useless in melee combat. Conversely, the size combined with their fierce magical prowess makes them desirable allies: they can easily sneak up on enemies to perform magic.

Description

The term "humanoid" is used loosely; aside from the wings and size, they are identical to humans in both appearance and intelligence. Each faerie's wings are unique in shape and size, but always have a magical sheen and shimmer about them. Some speculate this to be the source of their magic.

Genetic Varieties

Like all creatures in the Sphere, the Faeries come in 2 genetic varieties: Ma'el and F'ma'el.

For the Ma'el, wing size and, consequently, airspeed are a source of passion and pride. As physical strength is almost non-existent for all, even a minuscule amount more than a peer disproportionately increases the faerie's confidence, even to the point of cockiness in some.

For the F'ma'el, wing sheen and shimmer provide the drama, as these are what attract mates, causing jealousy and the occasional fistfight.
