Drägan Duma is an incredibly well-written bookseries, written by Patty van Delft. It is about a girl named Jill whose father, whom she doesn't know anything about, turns out to be a dragon rider from Drägan Duma; Her mother is from our own world and together with her mom she lived in our world, though on a day her mother died in a car crash. Once Jill becomes sixteen years old, she develops the ability to use magic and she is brought to Drägan Duma. There she gets trained as a potential dragon rider. There isn't yet published an English version of this bookseries, but there is fortunately being worked on as hard as possible!
This bookseries is absolutely my favourite bookseries. I have already read it three times, because I simply love reading it. It contains a very good amount of humour and especially sarcasm, since the main character, Jill, has a lot of sarcasm. Furthermore, Drägan Duma is a series that makes me sometimes laugh, at some points cry and at other moments smile. I really love that. Also a very nice thing about this books is that it contains dragons! The dragons are very nice. The dragons get magically 'bound' to a human, who then becomes a dragon rider; Between a dragon and their soulmate, the dragon rider, is a magical empathic connection which results in them being able to 'talk' to each other and share thoughts. They can also look trough the eyes of the other and actually it is somewhat like they share their brains with each other. Dragons are quite simple with emotions, they don't have as much different difficult emotional modes as humans. Hence the emotions of their soulmate can sometimes be a bit confusing for a dragon. I really like that this comes to attention several times. For example with love, then a dragon is like: "Why thinking so difficult? Of course he likes you!". I really love the way dragons are in Drägan Duma. The way I see dragons is very much influenced by this bookseries. I can't say enough times that it is just incredible. Every time I read the books, I can't stop reading.
Patty van Delft has done an exellent job writing this books. If I would have to rate it on a scale from one to ten, I would absolutely give it a 10.
