The Phantom

1996

2/5

James Remar is in this, and I think my feelings about the movie can be summed up by my feelings about him: He isn't bad, but he isn't particularly good either. He's interesting, and he brings a certain something to a movie, but there's always just something lacking in his performance. This movie gave me a similar feeling. I didn't hate it, but the whole time I just kind of felt like I'd rather be watching something else.

This is actually fitting, because it's the way I've always felt about the source material. It seems like an interesting concept, and it's the origin of the legacy superhero idea, but it's never caught my interest at all (sorry, Lee Falk).
