About 0.7 liters.
(4 deciliters) cloudberries, fresh or frozen
(1.5 deciliters) sugar (1.25 dl?)
(7 deciliters) unflavored alcohol, e.g. Renat or Suomi Viina, 38%
Add ingredients to a jar with a tight lid. Keep in a cool, but not cold, dark place. Turn gently every day until the sugar is dissolved.
Let sit for 4 months. Filter and store in an air-tight bottle.
Eat the left-over berries on ice cream or with whipped cream. Or make a sauce from them.
The large amount of sugar is needed to bring the flavor and color out of the berries. The 38% is the right concentration to extract the flavor. Too high and the fruit is simply preserved. Too low and it goes bad.
