Animations on my DS

2008-04-22

So, I got myself a CycloDS Evolution. By way of a quick introduction, it's device that loads into your Nintendo DS in the game slot, but instead of being an actual game, it's sort of an application launcher. I can use it to launch homebrew (stuff written by "normal folks") or for loading game roms off of a memory card (I only have roms for which I've paid ;^) ).

My two favorite applications are Flickbook DS[1] and Pocket Physics. They are both just awesome.

Flickbook lets you draw animations with the touchscreen. You draw one frame at a time and can view the movies as they are played back (at 12fps). I've been hooked and drawn a lot of stuff and will share two of my creations here with you.

In order to view them you'll need to be able to play ogg theora video files...here[2] is how to enable that. It's easy.

Once you've got your browser set up, you can view my little vids at your leisure ;^)

They're not ready for Saturday morning, but they're really fun to make.
