We are a few weeks away from releasing our initial version of our software. This will be my very first piece of software that I have ever release. As you can imagine it's pretty stressful. If any of you know how to deal with feeling's of stress when it comes to being weeks from release please email me please.
Anyways we had a very long meeting today about the microservices that our application will feature... not in our initial release. Or at least not as "microserviced" as the final plan will be. So we are going to have to create large scripts that do the duties of the eventual services.
But here's the thing. Our senior developer somehow explain this huge architecture to me and the co-op students with such ease... that I just can't understand. Like It's both daunting and inspiring to see someone so knowledgeable or ahead than you. Because I want to get there eventually. And I'm working pretty hard right now to get there, I'm juggling full time college courses and working full time at a software company.
Also I've been really trying to follow Cal Newport's message in his book DEEP WORK. If been applying some of his advice and I think I'm starting to notice results; however, it's probably to early to notice real improvements. I've notice myself loosing my focus as concentration as time has gone. This is really a weakness in the software development industry so I really want to cure this issue.
Thanks,
