A comment on HN about YT removing dislike button: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=29185244

I’ve seen some interesting projects in the past that were browser based and made the entire Internet be equipped with comments sections, including YouTube

This could be an addition to the "easy Gemini for non-tech people" idea, or rather, not the idea itself, but a Gemini client that implements it

@reidrac I think I'd disagree. there is some research on the quality of comments and reactions in regard to comment length and how easy it was to write them. that research suggests that less involved and quick responses are more polarizing and disagreeable than overwise. if your community word means that people are thoughtful, then sure, but I'd hardly consider communities thoughtful and empathetic by default. those are rare · 1 year ago

it'd be the best if we only had comments everywhere. wasn't there this platform that is known for positive attitudes, friendly behaviours and constructive discussions? what was the name again.... ah yes: Twitter. I'm sure we should align more to the features that make that platform so great! · 1 year ago
