Are there Usenet users here? Beyond the comp.infosystems.gemini, which newsgroups are worth subscribing?

@bencollver finally, after I read the FAQ I had no other choice than to post something 😝
Thanks again for the link! · 10 months ago
@bencollver Thanks for the tip!
More than two months without any message though. It's good if the group is not too active (I can't follow hundreds of messages a week), I'll try to stay and see if there's a way for me to participate. · 10 months ago

I use AIOE with Thunderbird. It works perfectly (I followed this guide: gemini://tilde.team/~text/usenet/thunderbird/index.gmi ). Now I try to find good groups and to understand the etiquette. · 11 months ago
I connect via the nntp.aioe.org server (no registration needed). If you like TUI interface, I use mutt, but slrn is also a good choice :)
I don't really follow other group than the gemini one mentioned already (alive from time to time), but looking from time to time to see if there are other nice one so open to reco as well :) · 11 months ago
@comatoast it works like classical emailing: you need a provider (like https://www.eternal-september.org/) and a client application (like Thunderbird) sadly there seems to be no floss client for android/SailfishOS :( @adou from time to time. I used it about 20 years ago and registered a account on eternal-september some days ago. There is life in this gemini group :) · 11 months ago
I never udnerstood how the usenet protocol works. Is there a special browser I have to use? How do I use it? · 11 months ago
