I remember that I read, a few days ago, Idiomdrottning saying that the French run-off system was good.

I just voted for a guy I hate, who shat on me for 5 years, to allow him to continue shitting on me for 5 more years to avoid fascism.

I don't feel like French system is a good one, just now. The oligarchy just has to push fascism as its first opposition to be almost sure to stay in power.

This is a denegation of democracy. And there is a big risk in this “almost”…

Honestly the 'pick-your-poison' happens over here in the states especially with the presidential elections. I lean abit more into the conspiracy-nut territory than Id like to admit on the political stuff so to me its a very thinly veiled false-choice. When you only have only two parties to vote for and both parties are controlled by the same people at the top, voting becomes entirely irrelivant. Its all an adults version of a puppet show put on to make the common person *think* they have a choice. · 10 months ago

Agreed. Voted for him too; or, to me more accurate, against the other one. Fascist a-hole vs. less-fascist a-hole: that's a "pick your poison" situation, but really doesn't feel like democracy.

And yes, it could be worse. But every 5 years it feels worse than last time. I'm really not looking forward to next time :-/ · 11 months ago
