dear @skyjake Lagrange on Android is very addictive... I have a request or suggestion (it depends by your mood) to improve the UI.

My thumbs would be really happy if you can compact/move the:

URL Bar

the tabs

the toolbar

At the bottom, actually the toolbar is already there...

Also I like the tabs the way they are, however modern mobile browsers show tab as preview or something like that, this wouldn't make sense with Gemini since everything look the same.

Not sure if you can do that but maybe when the tabs bar is too crowd you may simply slide left or right or click a dropdown button and show off all the tabs. However I prefer the first solution.

Thanks!

The implementation for mobile is going great. I have it pretty much working for both phone and tablet, with separate options for URL and/or tabs at bottom.

There are still a few glitches but I think I can release an updated Android build soon. Β· 1 year ago

@skyjake looks cool also on the desktop version! Β· 1 year ago

Check it out (on desktop):

Getting this on mobile requires a few more tweaks, such as attaching the navbar to be hidden with the toolbar, and moving it up for the keyboard. Should be worth it, though. Β· 1 year ago

I agree with the ergonomic benefits of having the commonly accessed elements near the bottom. I'll do some experiments and see what works. Β· 1 year ago

@eph I tend to use one hand at the time, so the problem here is not the consistency but the ergonomy.

Based on my phone screen the closer UI to the thumbs the better... πŸ‘ Β· 1 year ago

Personally, I like how consistent across platforms Lagrange is, though it would be cool to have an option to move the tab bar and URL bar to the bottom. Either way, using Lagrange is a joy, it reminds me of the old Nokia UI (UX?) that I loved so much on a phone I had a long time ago. Β· 1 year ago
