so, qtwebengine finally failed... so I said fuck it and $ sudo apt install calibre I cannot run calibre, but ebook-convert (somewhat) works. ebook-viewer doesn't work but I have fbreader. I guess that is that. Now I can screw around with epub'ing some gemini, maybe add some curl in there and add gopher to the mix?

hmmm... pandoc does indeed handle epub. I may go down the rabbit hole of sed'ing gmi to html concat'ing a bunch of downloaded docs together then pandoc'ing them html > epub. Then I can 86 my broken calibre install.

Speaking of calibre, is Kovid still hanging on to python 2 or did he finally decide to make the jump? · 9 months ago

nice! I will not be reinventing wheels to start! I had a script to download and concatenate a list of Gopher links and epub them a few years back, but it lived on a raspberry pi whose SD card took a dump... · 9 months ago
