Something I haven't shared about Gemini.

It's only on Gemini we see high concentrations of people writing blogs (aka. gemlog) and not caring to know how many people react/visit to them.

I have always wanted to partecipate in the internet community but was taken over by bad actors (e.g.: GAFAM), converted into a shit with justification you can squeeze up money from, and eventually we ended up into the "surveillance capitalism"... 🤦

Gemini tries to fix this shit and I feel that is the right place I can engage once again the internet community the way I like! 👌 · 5 months ago

yes I confirm. For my capsule I'm happy writing things as if it was a journal for myself. I really don't know if people is reading me and does it matter? And to be honest I don't know why I didn't do same on www side? I have a blog but I never wrote too much. In few weeks I wrote more on Gemini than my blog for several years. But in order to be "interfaced" with www I added an http mirror :) · 5 months ago

@nintron Maybe it's merely that – owning your own little bit of the network encourages you to tend to it, to want it to be good. Like having a garden. Coupled with the fact that folks travelling through Gemini space value things like that, so you're being useful at the same time. · 5 months ago

It's true, makes me wonder why. Like, I too want to make a little blog, but I can't tell you why other than it would be fun, and I'd have my own little capsule. · 5 months ago
