Old Computer Challenge

My experiment started with an old Asus eeepc netbook (2009) where I installed a Debian.

The netbook has 1 processor but 1 gb RAM, so I am out of the challenge but I decided to go further and try to use is again.

The first problem I've had was the non functioning of two keys of the keayboard, two really important one: the AltGr and the @ keys.

So I needed to extract the keyboard and clean it on the back. The decision to do so was not so immediate and I lost a few hours with inconsistent try to solve the problem via software/ configuration. In the end I won, and the keyboard now is ok.

Then I decided to install an Ubuntu 16.04 with lxde as a desktop environment but wanted to use only the command line.

So I installed lynx as a web browser and tried to install lagrange as gemini browser.

The Lagrange install was not so immediate and I didn't finish it (problems with te compiler).

My mail client will be Mutt, the text editor will be Vim that I am also using to write this text.

So, thanks to Solene. Great idea the challenge. I reused an old computer and learnt a lot of things today. Hope to have time to continue. The real challenge to me is to be able to use a linux pc on command line. :-)
